Corporate Social Investment for Primedia Outdoor means a commitment to support the upliftment of society and to propagate a positive impact on individuals and disadvantaged communities across South Africa.
We are a division of Primedia Pty Ltd, contributing to the well-established social responsibility entity, Lead SA.
Skills Development
To provide excellent training and first-hand working experience, we recruit graduates for a 12-month internship programme each year at our headquarters in Roodepoort, Johannesburg. This programme creates unique opportunities for student to explore their professional interests and refine their skillsets.
Education
Every year, our staff and management sacrifices their year-end party to volunteer to participate in the annual Gift To Give initiative. We earmark schools in need of support, by way of stationery, books, wheelchairs, uniforms and in some instances, even basic items like water storage tanks.
Above and beyond, we have partnered with AAA School of Advertising to give away scholarships for BA in Marketing Communication or BA in Creative Brand Communication degrees to four students from disadvantaged backgrounds for full time study. As part of this partnership, our staff members can upskill their talents by attending short courses that range from Analytical and Financial Decision Making to Creativity and Problem Solving.
Environment
To offset our carbon footprint, we donate our used billboard material to companies like Little Green Number who convert the tough fabric into corporate gifts ranging from laptop bags to portable braai covers.
In partnership with Food & Trees for Africa, a giant in the environment sector, we have planted in excess of 6000 indigenous and fruit trees. In addition, we have also provided funding for 8 school and community vegetable gardens to assist the feeding schemes.
Our alignment of these project with our core business, further assist in making meaningful impact on the lives of those less fortunate to see South Africa as a progressive nation.
